Location: Idle Bank, Westwoodside, Doncaster, DN9 2EL
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Some overtime may be required to support production and operational needs.
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Parts Assistant to join our motorhome manufacturing team. This role is essential to ensuring the smooth flow of parts and materials throughout the production process. The successful candidate will support manufacturing operations by receiving, organsing, issuing, and tracking parts required for motorhome assembly, while working closely with our Procurement Officer to maintain accurate stock levels and timely supply. The role will also involve collecting parts from suppliers as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming parts and materials.
Pick, pack, and issue parts to the production floor according to work orders and build schedules.
- Maintain organised and accurate inventory storage locations.
- Assist with stock control, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Work closely with the Procurement Officer to communicate stock requirements, shortages, and delivery updates.
- Collect parts and materials from local suppliers as required, ensuring safe and timely transport.
- Support purchasing activities by providing inventory data, usage trends, and parts availability information.
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of parts.
- Update inventory and transaction records using ERP systems.
- Prepare parts for internal transfer or external shipment as required.
- Identify and report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies.
- Follow all safety, quality, and handling procedures within the warehouse and production environment.
- Support general housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives within the parts and stores area.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a parts, stores, warehouse, or manufacturing support role preferred.
- Basic understanding of inventory control and material handling processes.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Basic computer skills, including experience using inventory or ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Clean, full driving licence required to collect parts and materials.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage.
